"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? " - Matthew 6:26 (New King James Version)
I was driving my bike yesterday to office, I dont drive bikes without a helmet. .I was wearing the helmet, didnt put on the helmet visor - i was rather enjoying the cool breeze of Bangalore on the drive.
Suddenly, Call it intution or 6th sense , I call is the Guidance of God.. I felt I shoud pull the visor down immediately. without any second thought, I pulled down the visor, within 2-3 seconds a big dragon fly came flying towards me and hit the visor.. i could hear rather a loud ' thud'. I was very much wondering how the Lord protects us, If I had not pulled down the visor, I am sure I would have been hit by the dragon fly and would have ended with a swollen eye today... Praise be to God...
I haven’t blogged for a while and I am back. Quite a lot of stories to be shared soon. But now I am writing on the trip we had during the diwali vacation 29th Oct 2010 – 5th Nov 2010. I have always thought of long drives and this is the time it has come true… it was thrilling and a wonderful experience driving all alone with my family.. covered close to 1700 kms in a week… WoW…
Below is the map (courtesy Google) with the trip route which we took. The route is Bangalore to Bangalore
Will share the detailed experience and the snaps in the next blog.
I was very much impressed by the story of Krishnan, the man who left his profession of being a great chef in 5 star hotels to feed the thousands on street without food.
30th of April 2010, I started my trip to Ooty, Time for our second baby’s arrival has come close. As per our Doc’s suggestion after the final Scan on 29t April, I planned for a 2 week leave.
Day 1, 4th of May we went for a checkup and Doc suggested Merlin gets admitted the same day. However, we got her admitted only the next day.
Since this was planned to be an induced labor, I got the opportunity to be with Merlin during this delivery, which I missed during Jessica’s Birth. Jessica is 2 years now, very playful; always exploring and we had told her someone new is going to join our family soon. Everyone exited, 4th of May the first dose of medicine was induced, we waited the whole day and had to end the day with nothing happening on the day.
Day 2, 5th of May, the second dosage was induced, Now, Merlin got the pain by 1:30 pm and was immediately rushed to the Labor room. Me and my Mom In Law, waited outside for the new bundle of joy (#include Jessica, who was outside with us, not understanding anything happening, happily playing and running around)
Since I was not there when Jessica was born, I never really understood the pain a woman undergoes during delivery. Though Merlin used to say about Jessica, never really understood, except I knew it must be very painful.
2:45 pm, My Mom-In-Law said “Can you hear that? That’s Sheeba!”. I was playing with Jessica engaging her, stopped the play and listened; I could hear Merlin screaming out of pain. Even as I write this I remember that day, My heart is beating fast like I am running for life. The same thing happened then, My heart started beating fast, I felt something blocking inside my chest, butterfly effect…. I couldn’t play anymore with Jessica, I lifted her and stood outside the door not knowing what would happen next. Every five minutes or so the scream continued and became louder, I could feel the struggle Merlin was undergoing.
There I was still standing, I didn’t cry but deep within me I was also feeling the pain, Started praying “Lord, Bring her back safe!!!”
3:30 pm I could hear the cries of a newborn child… I new our next child was born, said ‘Thank you Lord’. I was happy Merlin was fine; I could hear her talking with the doc in a couple of minutes…
The next 30 minutes were moving like a bullock cart… slow till Dr. Kousalya came out… 30 looooooong minutes… She handed over the little bundle of Joy to my Mom In Law. Our 2nd princess ‘Joshna was born’ – 3:30 pm , the Fifth of May, 3.75 kgs.Should I say how happy I was.. She was very beautiful Just like Jessica… with a little serious look… She looked like an angel..Actually there are no words to describe the Joy once I took her in my hand… You have to go thru this experience to feel what I have described… The Joy of blessed Marriage.
A member of a church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the preacher decided to visit him. It was a chilly evening. The preacher found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his preacher's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited. The preacher made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the preacher took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone, then he sat back in his chair, still silent. The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead. Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The preacher glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it. As the preacher reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, "Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the fiery sermon. I shall be back in church next Sunday." We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken. The Lord is my Shepherd ----- that's a Relationship! I shall not want ----- that's Supply! He maketh me to lie down in green pastures ----that's Rest! He leadeth me beside the still waters -----that's Refreshment! He restoreth my soul ----- that's Healing! He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness --that's Guidance! For His name sake ----- that's Purpose! Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death--that's Testing! I will fear no evil ----- that's Protection! For Thou art with me ----- that's Faithfulness! Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me -----that's Discipline! Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies------that's Hope! Thou annointest my head with oil ----- that's Consecration! My cup runneth over ----- that's Abundance! Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life----that's Blessing! And I will dwell in the house of the Lord -----that's Security! Forever ----- that's Eternity. What is most valuable is not what we have in our lives, but WHO we have in our lives.
Sounds's Interesting. Well, we wanted to get pure Cow's milk since its advised the packet milk or pasteurized milk is not good for babies and toddlers. Hence we started buying milk from a local milk vendor who brings milk and delivers at home. Recent days, the quality of the milk was changing...sometimes thick, sometimes watery, sometimes spoilt. One fine morning I went to the grocery store to buy some Dosa Mix, noticed our milkman was there too. I was quite surprised to see him buy some Homogenised Milk Packets, "Why would he buy milk when he has enough cows back at home? " Out of curiosity I was watching what he is upto. He casually opened the packets and mixed it with the milk he delivers home to all of us. And thats the story of mixing milk with milk. Really felt bad for what he is doing, settled him right away and now we are going ahead with Homogenised Milk ourselves.
