skywing packers and movers... beware....

My first moving experience from one state to another in India..... I had to pack my things from Hyderabad and move to Chennai and with limited time I had to find some Packers and Movers and get my job done... There came Skywing Packers . These guys came and gave an estimate of Rs. 10000 to get the entire stuff packed and transported. Packing was done within 3 hours of time and it was good.... When it came to payment of money they were stubborn that the full amount has to be payed first before loading the things (I didnt understand the reason then).. In addition they added service tax and now the total was 11.5 K.

Packing was done on a saturday and i was promised the packages will be delivered by monday evening without fail. Monday Evening I called them and got replies that the lorry was stuck somewhere.. .the same reason continued for three more days and after lots of frustration i finally got my stuff by thursday evening...In the meanwhile I had already spent about Rs. 3000 towards my temporary stay in Chennai.... the lorry driver who came later told me that the goods were loaded only on wednesday and he was not even paid 50% of what i had paid the packers..... Skywing packers literally took me for granted and I came to know this is what happens most of the time....

I had no hold and had to accept whatever happened..
Friends here are a few lessons learnt:

• Do not give the full amount (at least hold 50%) even if they pressurise you
• Plan well in advance and get quotes from 5 to six companies and decide who is the best one for you
• Insure your product (the lorry which brought the gooods was in a very bad shape... )
• Never go with Skywing Packers.
